Jubilee English Medium School, Gnanapuram
Jubilee English Medium School is established by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Visakhapatnam under its registered name "The Diocese of Vizagapatam Society". The Archbishop of the Archdiocese is the Manager of the School.
As it is established by a religious minority group — the Catholic Archdiocese of Visakhapatnam — it is run as a Minority Educational Institution, committed to providing value-based education rooted in compassion, discipline, and academic excellence.
Founder & Visionary
Archbishop Emeritus Dr. Kagithapu Mariadas, M.S.F.S., D.D., J.U.D.
Consecrated Bishop on 5th May 1977. On 24th January 2002, he was elevated to the status of Archbishop. On 5th May 2002, he completed 25 years of his Episcopate.
It is in commemoration of this Silver Jubilee of his episcopate and as an acknowledgement of his great service to the Archdiocese that Archbishop Kagithapu Mariadas (A.K.M.) Jubilee English Medium School was established at his own birthplace — Gnanapuram.
This school is an addition to the many educational institutions he established in the Archdiocese, for the sake of the people of this region.
Our Patron & Manager
His Grace Rt. Rev. Dr. Udumala Bala Showreddy, the present Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Visakhapatnam, serves as the Manager of the School. Under his able leadership and pastoral guidance, the institution continues to uphold the highest standards of education, discipline, and moral values.
Archbishop Dr. Udumala Bala Showreddy has been instrumental in expanding the reach of quality education to underserved communities while maintaining the rich spiritual and academic heritage established by our founder.
The school remains committed to its founding principles: providing holistic, value-based education to all children, irrespective of background, while giving special emphasis to the educational needs of the local community in Gnanapuram and surrounding areas.

Why 'Jubilee'?
The name "Jubilee English Medium School" commemorates the Silver Jubilee (25 years) of the episcopate of Archbishop Emeritus Dr. Kagithapu Mariadas. On 5th May 2002, he completed 25 years as a Bishop — a significant milestone celebrated with the establishment of this school at his birthplace, Gnanapuram.
The prefix A.K.M. stands for Archbishop Kagithapu Mariadas, a lasting tribute to the founder’s selfless service to the Archdiocese and his commitment to empowering communities through education.
This school is one among many educational institutions founded by him, but it holds a special place as it stands on his native soil, carrying forward his legacy to every child who walks through its gates.
